At the edge of the world, there lies an opportunity to observe another - one almost untouched. Here, dispersed across the diverse terrain surrounding Djupavogsflugvollur, are three distinct typologies - all rooted in the notion of immersing nature enthusiasts with unobstructed views of the rich fauna of Eastern Iceland. Mapped across the lagoon, flight patterns serve as the basis for the Sink, the Ground, and the Tower - all aligning to predominant avian migration routes as they traverse to and from the island nation. Pillars in the landscape, the observation points reward all those who journey to watch the rhythms of nature - even if only for a brief moment in time.
The Sink slowly submerges the watcher, and is thus the most linear and slender of the three typologies as it extends deep into the gentle waters of the ponds, lakes, and lagoons.
Across the plains between the nearby town and coast, the Ground is a pavilion in the landscape. It is a panoramic stage, anchored in the flat, grassy fields - unobstructed for watchers in all directions.
